Paper Piecing



Have you heard the term “paper piecing” and wondered exactly what it was? Have you seen those numbered patterns in books or magazines and wondered how to use them? Have you admired the stunning quilts made from the New York beauty blocks or the complicated designs of Judy Niemeyer and wondered if you could do that? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this class is for you. Fabric Requirements: NOTE: Cutting is required before coming to the class (see below). Please refer to the photo in class description for reference of fabrics listed below. You may choose any colors you like. BEFORE ironing and cutting your fabric, apply a generous amount of Quilting and Crafting Spray (or your favorite sizing) to the wrong side of the fabric.

Light fabric (background) Cut 8 pieces; 2.5in x 5in and label 6 & 7 Cut 8 pieces; 1.75in x 3.5in and label 2 & 3 Fuchsia Cut 4 pieces 2 inches x 4.5in and label 1

Check Cut 4 pieces 2 inches x 4.5in and label 4 Teal Cut 4 pieces 2 inches x 5.5in and label 5 Required Supplies: Quilting and Crafting Spray (or your favorite sizing) 6in Add-a-Quarter Ruler Simple Foundation Paper by C & T Publishing Size 90/14 Sewing Machine Needle (same as Janome Red top needle) Rotary Cutter THIN quilting pins 6.5in square ruler Open-toe applique foot for your machine Piecing thread – Aurifil white, ecru or gray recommended Scissors for cutting paper Small portable ironing station and iron if you have it
