Sock Knitting Workshop
The class will meet four times and your choice of patterns – I’m So Basic Sock or the Gretel Christmas Motif Knitted Socks pattern. Samples are knitted at the store. You will learn how to:
- Use the magic loop knitting technique
- Cast on, cuff and the textured pattern of the leg.
- Adding color changes to your socks
- Learning to do color work section in the round (if you are knitting the Gretel Sock)
- Heel flap, heel turn and gusset
- Toe and finishing using the Kitchener technique
- And at the last class we will start the second sock and review the sock process one more time

| Requirements: | Yarn for the I’m So Basic Sock – 1 skein of striped West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply sock yarn and if you would like a contrast heel and toe 1 skein of a solid color West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply sock yarn · Yarn for the Gretel Christmas Motif Knitted Socks – 1 skein of striped West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply sock yarn and one skein each of two different solid colored West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply sock yarn for the color work sections and for contrasting heel and toe sections. · US 1 (2.25mm) 40-inch circular needle or needle size for gauge · If you are knitting the Gretel Sock – 10-inch circular needle – one size up from the 40-inch circular needle that you will be using · Small stitch markers · Small tapestry needle · Your choice of the I’m So Basic Sock or the Gretel Christmas Motif Knitted Socks pattern – both patterns can be purchased on Ravelry.com |
